Reviews and Ratings
I must say, my stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The location was superb, right in the heart of Dublin with easy access to all the attractions. The service was top-notch, with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. However, the rooms were a bit of a letdown, especially on the upper floors where the sunlight made it challenging to relax, and the noise from the hallway above was bothersome.
My stay at the hotel was quite pleasant overall. The room's design was charming, although being at the top of the Georgian house made me a bit uneasy without window screens by the fire escape. However, the soaring ceilings and large windows offered a great view of 'old Dublin'. The service was friendly and attentive, with the staff showing genuine concern for our well-being. The location was convenient, close to iconic pubs and a short distance from major attractions. The dining experience was delightful, especially the fresh and delicious breakfast. However, the hotel could benefit from more facilities to enhance the overall guest experience.
The hotel has some pros like Hastens beds in all rooms but with significant downsides like room leakage during rainstorms and inadequate privacy. The staff were superb but lacked foresight in room allocation. The location was convenient for touring Dublin but suffered from noise issues.
The hotel rooms were quite large, clean, and felt like stepping back in time. However, the intense lights made it uncomfortable to stay for long periods. The room's location below the front door caused noise from creaking floorboards, disrupting our sleep. We missed breakfast as it ended at 10, and the cleaning staff was unaware of our check-out time, leading to some confusion and early intrusion for cleaning.
My stay at Number 31 was a mixed experience. The hotel has a cool retro vibe and a perfect location just off Leeson St, which made it easy to explore Dublin. However, my room in the lobby lacked a window, was extremely noisy, small, stuffy, and felt more like a dorm than a comfortable hotel room. The service under the expert leadership of Jennie Cotter was good overall, especially during breakfast with a wide selection of items, but there were some issues that need to be addressed in the rooms. The dining experience was amazing both mornings, with delicious dishes like rhubarb compote, oatmeal, and award-winning cranberry bread. The facilities were generally good, but there were a few noteworthy drawbacks.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of ups and downs. The location was great, feeling private and secluded while still being close to Dublin City. The service was hit and miss, with staff being professional and friendly at times but experiencing a significant change in attitude during my stay. The rooms had some issues, with a leak during rainstorms and an initial placement in a less than ideal setting, though the room itself was spacious. The dining experience was a highlight, impressing me with its quality. Overall, a varied experience with some notable positives and negatives.
